Polec, who was selected with pick No. 5 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, has made the move to Port Adelaide from the Brisbane Lions to revive his career.
The 21-year-old is unproven at AFL level, but his asking price of $135,500 is tempting for a player of his talent.
Things didn't work out in Brisbane, but Polec could relish the opportunity to return home and come into his own at Port.
2014 Fantasy price watch: Carlton
As expected, prime midfielders Kane Cornes and Travis Boak lead the way on the fantasy front for the Power.
Cornes [MID, $578,100] and Boak [MID, $543,300] averaged 106.67 and 100.24 fantasy points respectively in 2013.
Following his reported commitment to a new contract with the Power, Boak looks well placed to take another significant leap next season.
Brad Ebert, Chad Wingard and Justin Westhoff are the next best fantasy options at the club.
Ebert [MID, $537,300] won a lot of admirers for his consistent performances in 2013 and that looks like continuing next season.

Importantly, Wingard [MID/FWD, $474,000] has been given an upgrade to a dual position player. That means coaches will be able to also select the Power's young star as a midfielder in 2014.
Key forward John Butcher [FWD, $208,900] is another high draft pick who has struggled to establish himself with any real credence at AFL level.
Butcher – taken by the Power with pick No. 8 in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft – will be looking to make a significant impact for the Power next season.
Others to keep an eye on include Aaron Young [MID, $249,800], Paul Stewart [FWD, $263,900] and Jarman Impey [FWD, $208,700].
Look for an increased midfield role for Young, while Impey may be given his chance following his drafting by Power.
