Hansen is one of five North free agents this year, the others being Todd Goldstein (restricted), Leigh Adams, Michael Firrito and Brent Harvey (all unrestricted).

"My manager and the club have over the past couple of weeks been talking pretty heavily, so I think it's just a matter of time before that gets done," Hansen told AFL.com.au on Tuesday.
"I'm just concentrating on footy and letting my manager organise that, but hopefully over the next couple of weeks everything will be sorted out.
"North's been a great club to me and we're going in the right direction, so there's no reason why we won't get it done."
Hansen carried massive expectations early in his career after being taken by North at pick No.3 in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft.
A lightly framed youngster when he arrived at Arden Street, Hansen was always going to need time to build the bulk and strength required to become an AFL key-position player.
His versatility also meant he was regularly thrown from defence to attack and attack to defence, depending on North's needs.
But since round seven last year, Hansen has settled in defence and, at 25, is now one of the Roos' most dependable performers.
With fellow talls Scott Thompson and Nathan Grima supporting him, Hansen has become one of the competition's best intercept marks, regularly short-circuiting opposition attacks with his sure hands.
AFL.com.au understands North's negotiations with Goldstein are not as far advanced.
North football director Geoff Walsh said in January that North was "a fair way down the track" in its talks with Goldstein.
Last month Walsh said those talks had progressed to the stage that the parties were "essentially involved in a final-figure discussion".
Goldstein told AFL.com.au on Tuesday he wanted to stay a one-club player, but was concentrating on his football rather than the negotiations with North.
"My manager Tom Petroro knows exactly what I feel and he's working together with 'Walshy' on it," Goldstein said.
"I love this footy club and you always want to be a one-club player - that's obviously the goal.
"But it's something that I don't want to worry about, I just want to worry about getting a kick on the weekend.
"If I start worrying about how all that's going, it could affect my performance and that's one thing we don't want to happen."
