Both clubs will be chasing their first rebel VFLW premiership when they meet in the 2024 rebel VFLW Grand Final at ETU Stadium on Sunday.

North Melbourne finished the home and away season in fourth place on the ladder to secure a rebel VFLW finals berth for the first time.

The Kangaroos booked the first place in the Grand Final by thrashing Essendon at Arden Street Oval in the second elimination final before downing minor premier Williamstown at DSV Stadium by 18 points in the second semi final.

The Western Bulldogs finished the home and away season in second spot and had to take the extended route to the Grand Final after losing to Williamstown in the qualifying final during the opening week of the finals.

The Bulldogs responded by beating reigning premier Port Melbourne at Mission Whitten Oval in the first semi final before turning the tables on Williamstown in the preliminary final with a 44-point triumph at ETU Stadium.

The preliminary final win secured the Bulldogs’ second rebel VFLW Grand Final appearance after going down to Collingwood in the 2019 decider.

AFL Head of State League Competitions Jennie Loughnan said she was looking forward to crowning a new premier in the 2024 rebel VFLW Grand Final at ETU Stadium.

“The 2024 rebel VFLW season has again delivered an extremely even competition and it is a credit to our two Grand Finalists to have made it through to the final day of the season,” Loughnan said.

“North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs have displayed great improvement in 2024 and both are thoroughly deserving of their place in the premiership decider.

“It is an incredible effort by North Melbourne to make the Grand Final in their first time playing in the rebel VFLW finals, while the Western Bulldogs have made a remarkable transformation after winning only three matches over the past two seasons.

“It is really exciting that we will be crowning a new rebel VFLW premier this year.

“On behalf of the AFL, I would like to thank all clubs, players, umpires, venues and our broadcast and commercial partners for their tremendous support of the rebel VFLW in 2024 and wish North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs the best of luck for the Grand Final.”

rebel has again been a proud supporter of the VFLW in 2024, bringing together an iconic Australian brand and leading sports retailer with the premier women’s community football league in Victoria.

rebel GM eCommerce & Marketing Rosemary Martin said: “rebel is truly the ‘Home of Football’ in Australia. With 160 stores nationally, rebel has a deep connection with communities all over Australia, which extends into every level of football.

“rebel is proud to be the naming rights partner of the rebel VFLW competition and we wish both North Melbourne and Western Bulldogs the best of luck in the 2024 rebel VFLW Grand Final as they chase their first premiership.”

North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs have met twice during the 2024 rebel VFLW season, sharing one win apiece.

The Kangaroos claimed a 22-point win at Mission Whitten Oval in the opening round of the year, before the Bulldogs produced a seven-point victory at Arden Street Oval in the final round of the season.

PREMIERSHIP CUP AND BEST ON GROUND MEDAL PRESENTERS

North Melbourne AFLW captain Emma Kearney will present the premiership cup if the Kangaroos are victorious, while the Western Bulldogs have confirmed AFL Life Member and Hall of Famer Debbie Lee as their premiership cup presenter.

Lisa Hardeman will present the Lisa Hardeman Medal to the player adjudged best on ground.
