Hawthorn Football Club officially announced its playing list to members at Wednesday night’s Annual General Meeting at the Hawthorn Town Hall.
The Club also allocated guernsey numbers to Hawthorn’s new recruits and handed out new jumper numbers to some of its young emerging players.
Traded players Kyle Cheney and David Hale will wear guernsey numbers 13 and 20 respectively, with pre-season pick Cameron Bruce taking on guernsey number 17.
Isaac Smith, the Club’s first pick in the National Draft, will wear number 16 while fellow draftees Paul Puopolo, Mitch Hallahan and Angus Litherland will wear the numbers 28, 38, and 42.
New numbers have also been allocated to some of the Club’s second and third year players.
Emerging ruckman Luke Lowden will take on the number 30 jumper, while Best First Year player Ben Stratton moves into the number 24 jumper.
New rookie recruits Sam Menegola, Tom Schneider, Derick Wanganeen, Will Langford and Jack Mahony will take numbers 44, 45, 46, 48, and 49 respectively.
Hawthorn President Jeff Kennett also officially announced a net operating profit for the year ended 31 October 2010 of $2,326,545.
In announcing the 2010 result, the Hawthorn president said “the Club has for the fourth consecutive season achieved a net operating result exceeding $2m, a key objective as outlined in our five2fifty business plan.”
Mr Kennett also reported on the Club’s final membership tally, which grew 2.9% to 54,473 (2009 - 52,929).
The President commented on Hawthorn’s relationship with the Tasmanian Government as its major naming rights partner, with the Club securing an extension of the sponsorship with the Tasmanian Government for a further five years (2012-2016).
The Club also presented Life Membership Awards to Trevor Randall, Bruce Stevenson, Chance Bateman and Campbell Brown.
Club Life Service Awards were presented to Darren Wallen, Carol Wallen, Alex Davis and Robert Hancock for their long-time support of the Club and Michael Susnja and Mark Pelchen received Football Service Awards.
As per the Club Constitution, nominations were opened for the three vacant Club director positions currently held by Jason Dunstall, Geoff Harris and Richard Garvey (who had been appointed to the board in October 2010).
No additional nominations were received; with the three directors being re-elected, unopposed.
