Blake Grima, Eddie Sansbury and Ben Davies have been informed that they will not be retained on North Melbourne's playing list for the 2009 season.

Davies joined the club from Collingwood prior to the 2008 season and played two games, for a career total of 14.

Grima was recruited from Eastern Ranges and made his AFL debut in 2004.  He played 15 games for North Melbourne including three in 2008.

Sansbury was recruited from Central District (SANFL) and played 40 games in his career, including one in 2008.

Both Grima and Sansbury were key players in North Melbourne's VFL affiliate North Ballarat's 2008 premiership team.

Rookie James Wilsen has also been delisted.  Wilsen is a product of the New South Wales Scholarship Program and played one senior game for Werribee this year, North's other VFL affiliate.

Chief of Football Donald McDonald thanked the players for their contribution to the club.

"All of these players were popular and respected teammates who gave 100% during their time at the club," McDonald said.

"Blake and Eddie in particular have been at the club for a number of years and made a great contribution.  Blake has shown great perseverance in coming back from injuries and his attitude to his training and preparation has been first class.

"Eddie has had a really positive impact off the field.  He has been a leader and set a fine example to our young indigenous players and has had a big influence on the development of players like Matty Campbell and Lindsay Thomas.  His efforts in this regard have been invaluable.

"We thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future, we will do everything we can to assist them with the transition to life after AFL football."
