The Slice

Sit back, relax and get your footy fix with a difference by watching the second season of ‘The Slice’, AFL PLAY's free vodcast.

Host Connor Rogers, aka 'Rog', returns with the show taking on a different look this year. Rog is travelling around the country to take fans inside the world of local footy by visiting the clubs and people who make the grassroots game go.

Rog is a self-described “footy nuffie”, but you don’t have to be. The Slice is for all! Rog and his rotating roster of guests and mates cover a range of themes from community, sport, friendship, growing up, of course some footy and more on the revamped format.

Host ‘Rog’ chats to social media star Adele Maree in season two, episode three of The Slice.

The short, sharp episodes are published to the AFL PLAY YouTube channel every second Tuesday and are available to watch on-demand, on any device.

The 2024 season will feature 10 episodes, with three shows out and available to watch:

Episode 1: Find out what it's like to design an AFL guernsey

The Slice is back for Season 2 with a new look! In this episode we're hanging out with sibling duo Mali Isabel and KC. Mali tells us about how she designed the Melbourne FC Indigenous Round Guernsey, and Rog and KC go head to head in an art challenge.

Episode 2: What really goes on at a local footy club...

This episode is all about what goes on down at the Glebe Greyhounds Junior Football Club. Chatting to some of the club’s volunteers, players, coaches and Vice President about what really makes community footy so special. We also get an insight to a potential AFL draft pick’s local footy experience and how it shaped him to be the person he is today.

Episode 3: What do footy and relationships have in common?

This episode features special guest, Adele Maree, who chats with Rog about the power of relationships and sport. Hear Adele share her own personal stories and advice when it comes to dating and relationships.

Keep an eye out for episode four, which will see Rog travel to the Sunshine Coast in beautiful Queensland with content creator Bodhi Jacko to visit the Maroochydore v Noosa rivalry game. It’ll be fun!
