Vote on 'paddle pop lion' jumper headlines EGM resolutions
BRISBANE Lions members will vote on the club's guernsey, the make-up of its board and a contentious constitution change at an Extraordinary General Meeting on November 13.
Chairman Angus Johnson confirmed the EGM on Wednesday and sent a letter to supporters and members via the club's website with details of its resolutions.
The full Notice of Meeting will be mailed to members as soon as possible.
Johnson said an EGM was called after a majority of Lions directors agreed a compromise proposed by the AFL was not acceptable to all parties.
Johnson is one of five directors who will have their fate determined at the special meeting.
Rival ticket spearheads Mick Power and Paul Williams, along with Johnson's supporters Linda Nash and Cameron Milner, will all be considered for removal.
Bob Sharpless and Peter McGregor are considered expertise directors and will have their places spared.
Members will also vote on a constitutional amendment that would give life members the same rights as full members to stand for election as directors.
And in what is sure to be a big talking point for members, they will also vote on the Lions' playing strip.
There has been a heavy push to return the old Fitzroy lion that was the symbol of the club's hat-trick of premiership from 2001-2003 and away from the 'paddlepop lion' that replaced it in 2009.
What will give Brisbane the edge when they meet their old foes, Adelaide, in a preliminary?
