WESTERN Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has signed a contract extension that will see him in charge of the club until the end of 2020.
Beveridge's deal was due to expire at the end of next season before he signed on for another three years.
"It's as secure as I've felt in footy and I'd like to thank the club and (president) Peter Gordon for his investment in me as a person," Beveridge told reporters on Tuesday.
"The recommendation means a lot to be charged with the responsibility to do everything I can to guide the footy side of things.
"I don't take the responsibility lightly."
Director of football Chris Grant expressed similar sentiments to westernbulldogs.com.au earlier on Tuesday.
"We are really excited to secure Luke to the end of 2020, after what we believe has been an outstanding start to his senior coaching career," Grant said.
"Not only has Luke achieved results on the field, we are also pleased with the way he builds relationships with our staff and players and the rate at which our playing group is growing and developing.
"We are excited and optimistic for the next four years under Luke’s leadership."
The Bulldogs finished sixth after last year's home and away season before losing to Adelaide by seven points in an elimination final.
That came after the Dogs had finished 14th in 2014, captain Ryan Griffen had left for Greater Western Sydney and coach Brendan McCartney had parted ways with the club.
