ADELAIDE star Ebony Marinoff will remain a Crow in 2019, after choosing not to accept an offer put to her by an expansion club.

The 20-year-old inside midfielder had been linked to several Victorian clubs after playing her winter football with VFLW side Darebin last year, following the conclusion of the first NAB AFL Women's season.

"I’m really happy at Adelaide. It’s a great club and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve next season,” Marinoff said.

"Our playing group has formed a really strong bond and ultimately I felt that staying at home with the Crows was the best fit for me."

Expansion clubs Geelong and North Melbourne are able to approach any AFLW player, as all were out of contract at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

The player's original club then has the right to make a counter-offer.

If the player chooses to stay with their original club, they can be signed immediately, rather than wait for the sign and trade period for the eight foundation clubs (May 23-June 4).

Marinoff finished third in the club's best and fairest award this year after winning the NAB AFLW Rising Star award in 2017.

She also holds the record for the most tackles recorded in an AFLW or AFL match, laying 21 in Adelaide's round four draw with Greater Western Sydney this year.

Superstar teammate Erin Phillips has also signalled her intention to remain a Crow next year, but is yet to officially sign with the club.
