GOLD Coast champion Gary Ablett may have played his last game for the club after failing a fitness test at training on Thursday night.
The Suns subsequently withdrew the dual Brownlow medallist from Saturday night's clash with Port Adelaide, citing the hamstring injury that sidelined him off and on in recent times.
They named him not even two hours earlier, adding further fuel to talk Ablett will again seek to return to his old side Geelong, where he played in the Cats' 2007 and 2009 premierships.

He is contracted at the Gold Coast until the end of next season, but sensationally and unsuccessfully requested a trade back to Geelong last year. He stated in April he could quit football at the end of this season because of private issues.
The Suns' general manager of football operations, Marcus Ashcroft, said Ablett was unable to prove his fitness sufficiently to play.
"Gaz gave himself the best opportunity to play this weekend," Ashcroft said.
"But unfortunately at training this evening he simply could not reach the speed required to be passed fit to play this weekend."
Jack Bowes, who was also named to return in the initial side, injured a hamstring in the same training session and is also out of Gold Coast's selected side.
Mitch Hallahan, who was originally dropped, and Brad Scheer replace Ablett and Bowes, while Alex Sexton is now an emergency.
