THE TOP eight for 2024 is set, and it all came down to a thrilling final day of the home and away season.  

Port Adelaide downed Fremantle at Optus Stadium to lock up a home qualifying final, ending the Dockers' campaign and saving Carlton's season.

The Blues had to rely on a Power victory to ensure their own finals berth after St Kilda forward Jack Higgins' matchwinning goal with 12 seconds left gave the Saints a thrilling win over Carlton at Marvel Stadium.  

Meanwhile, the Western Bulldogs will play finals after knocking off Greater Western Sydney in Ballarat in Sunday's first game, while Brisbane and Hawthorn secured their finals spots on Saturday, Sydney officially confirmed the minor premiership and Geelong booked a top-four finish.
