WEST Coast and Collingwood have exchanged draft picks in a deal that has landed the Magpies pick No.6 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.
The complicated trade, which was finalised on Monday morning, saw the Eagles send picks No.6 and No.44 to Collingwood.
In return, West Coast received picks No.11 (the Magpies' compensation for Dale Thomas), No.31 and No.49.
The deal was prompted by the Eagles' need to find another second-round selection to trade to the Brisbane Lions for midfielder Elliot Yeo.
It is expected they will now send pick No.31 to the Lions for the 20-year-old in a deal that should also be finalised on Monday.
It is understood the Eagles see little difference between pick No.6 and pick No.11, with the possibility their preferred first-round choice could still be available with their new selection.
Collingwood, meanwhile, is clearly motivated to move up the draft order to snare their preferred first-round choice.
Yeo has been West Coast's No.1 priority through the Gillette AFL Trade Period, but it could not get a deal done for its third-round pick, No.44 overall, which was traded to the Magpies.
