While the Brisbane Lions will have to wait another week before facing St Kilda on Easter Thursday, Assistant Coach Jade Rawlings believes the team’s Round 4 Bye could prove a good thing.

“We’ve had three tough games, so it probably does come at a good time,” Rawlings said.

“We’ll take the time to just refresh and review our first three weeks and then launch ourselves into the next 16-week patch before our next break.”

Rawlings said he was pleased with the team’s efforts over the first three rounds despite the fact they are yet to crack their first win of the season.

“We feel as though we’ve done enough in a couple of games to be in winning positions,” he said.

“But unfortunately people don’t reward good efforts on the ladder.”

“We’ve reviewed our first three games pretty thoroughly and believe there’s enough in there to show that we’re on the right path.”

“There’s been some good positive trends and some things that we need to work on. We’re not ging to change our game style. We’ve spent too much time on it over summer to start changing it around.”

“We’ll make some slight alterations and tweaks here and there to tighten things up.”

Rawlings was also coy on the possible return of defender Josh Drummond to the line-up for the St Kilda match.

“We’re itching to get him back in, but there’s still bit of of water to go under the bridge with him,” Rawlings said.

“We’ve been pretty happy with how our backline has stood up so far, but he’s someone who can add a lot of quality and class to it as well.”

“He’s progressing well. He’s a pretty optimistic guy, he’s in our Leadership Group and very professional with how he prepares.”

“We’ll make a decision to make sure he plays for the rest of the year, not just two weeks on, three weeks off.”

The Lions will face a fired up St Kilda outfit next Thursday who are also yet to post their maiden 2011 after playing off in two Grand Finals last year.

“This will be the third week in a row that we’re coming up against a team that’s just copped a hammering from you guys in the media - firstly the Bulldogs, then Melbourne, now St Kilda,” Rawlings said.

“But that doesn’t bother us. We just have to worry about what we can control and prepare ourselves as best we can.”
