HARLEY Bennell has undergone a second bout of calf surgery in six weeks as he bids to find a third AFL club.
The ex-Docker and Sun had an operation on his right calf in Brisbane in late July and he returned for similar surgery to remove scar tissue in his left calf on Wednesday.
There is genuine confidence in the Bennell camp about his ability to reinvigorate his stalled 83-match career.

Calf problems have dogged him to date and played a key role in him appearing in only two senior games in four seasons at Fremantle.
These operations were on the advisement of Geelong-based sports physiotherapist and calf guru Peter Stanton, who is working closely with Bennell to remedy his physical issues.
Sydney is one of the clubs that has checked in on Bennell since he parted ways with the Dockers in mid-July.
The Swans will be able to sign the talented 26-year-old as a delisted free agent from November 1.
Interested parties also have the opportunity to invite Bennell to train with them and monitor him firsthand before potentially signing him in the pre-season supplemental selection period.
