A total of seven debutants made their mark as stars of the game when the 2024 AFL All Australian Team was unveiled during the AFL Awards presentation tonight.

Max Gawn adds his seventh blazer to his All Australian record, making Gawn the tenth player in competition history with seven or more All Australian blazers alongside Gary Ablett Snr, Gary Ablett Jnr, Patrick Dangerfield, Lance Franklin, Robert Harvey and Mark Ricciuto all have eight across their career, while Wayne Carey, Stephen Silvagni and current All Australian selector Nathan Buckley have seven apiece.

Marcus Bontempelli, is named Captain of the All Australian team, with his sixth selection. The previous All Australian Captain from Western Bulldogs was Robert Murphy in 2015. Carlton's Patrick Cripps was named Vice-Captain with his fourth All Australian blazer.

Six players retained their places from the 22 players named in the 2023 AFL All Australian team – Daniel Houston, Errol Gulden, Marcus Bontempelli, Nick Daicos, Caleb Serong and Zak Butters.

The 2024 All Australian selection panel is Andrew Dillon (Chair), Eddie Betts, Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Abbey Holmes, Glen Jakovich, Laura Kane, Josh Mahoney and Matthew Pavlich.
