PORT Adelaide forward Todd Marshall has taken indefinite leave away from football after the death of his father, Robert, on Monday night.
"The thoughts and best wishes of the Port Adelaide Football Club community are with Todd Marshall and his family after the sad passing of Todd’s father, Robert, last night," the Power said in a statement.
"Todd will take indefinite leave from the club to return home and be with his loved ones and will be unavailable for selection during this time.
"The club requests that the privacy of Todd and his family be respected."
It's been an extremely difficult past six months for the Marshall family, after Marshall's mother Mary lost her battle with cancer in October last year.
The 19-year-old played the first four games of the season, kicking nine goals, before he was concussed in the round four loss to Essendon.
He didn't play in the Power's 34-point loss to Geelong at Adelaide Oval last Saturday night.
Marshall was due to return to the Power's side for Saturday's clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
