Every Power player rated from the second preliminary final
Every Power player rated from the preliminary final loss to Hawthorn
Travis Boak – 9
After a quiet semi-final, Boak threw himself into the very first contest and set the tone for Port's barnstorming first quarter. Booted the Power's opening goal and ran rampant in concert with Hartlett and Gray. Never stopped fighting despite close-checking from Will Langford and Liam Shiels. Inspirational 33-possession effort from the skipper.
Matthew Broadbent – 6
Mopped up across half-back and interchanged with Tom Jonas on dangerous Hawks forward Luke Breust, who went goalless. Gave plenty of rebound from 18 disposals.
Alipate Carlile – 4
Convincingly beaten by superstar forward Jarryd Roughead. Carlile gathered 22 touches and his effort couldn't be faulted, but he looked shaky with ball in hand on the last line and had no answer for Roughead's agility.
The Power veteran made a bee-line for speedster Bradley Hill at the opening bounce but couldn't clamp down on the Hawks wingman. Tried his heart out and finished with 21 touches.
Brad Ebert - 8
Produced a tireless effort from siren-to-siren after running riot in the first term. Only downside was his decision to play on from a mark 60m out from goal with a minute on the clock. His kick was smothered by Luke Hodge, who then won a free-kick for holding the ball.
Robbie Gray – 9
Set the match alight in the first term with 10 touches and a goal – coming after he cleverly slapped the ball from Isaac Smith's hands at half-forward. The AFL Coaches' Association MVP spent more time in attack in the second half and added two more majors in another brilliant finals display.
Exerted a massive influence from 12 touches in the first half when he took the game on with dash and daring kicks. Struggled to break free from Liam Shiels' attention thereafter and only had five more touches.
Jack Hombsch – 8
Had an enthralling duel with slippery Hawks forward Jack Gunston and split the honours. Hombsch took the chocolates early before Gunston fought back. Was concussed late in the match.
Tom Jonas – 8
Did an outstanding job restricting Breust before the Hawk was thrown into the engine room. Jonas always took the most direct route to goal, the highlight being a booming 60m kick down the middle to Jay Schulz for Port's 4th goal.
Battled hard against the Hawks' ruck combination of David Hale and Jonathon Ceglar and won a game-high 22 hit-outs. Lobbe also laid nine tackles in an admirable display.
Angus Monfries – 8
Couldn't get into the game in the first half but came to life after the break. Monfries courageously ran back with the flight and booted a goal in the third quarter and then slotted two more in the frantic final term.
Started in the green vest and was injected into the game at three-quarter time. Could have been the unlikely hero when he lined up for a set shot with 75 seconds left on the clock. He was hard up against the boundary, though, and his shot floated across the face.
Jake Neade – 6
The livewire small forward only had seven touches but posed a constant threat. Sold a sublime dummy to Shaun Burgoyne and drilled a pass to Jay Schulz in the first term, but the big man summed up Port's night by missing a goal he should have kicked. Neade booted one goal, a ripping 40m snap in the second quarter.

Cam O'Shea – 6
O'Shea's valuable rebound from half-back didn't go unnoticed by the Hawks, who sent defensive forward Paul Puopolo to the Port backman. Was a solid contributor with 13 disposals.
Jasper Pittard – 6
The dashing defender also came under Puopolo's close-checking attention. Provided a link from defence to attack with four rebound 50s and two inside 50s.
Jared Polec – 7
The exciting wingman never fully imposed himself on the match but gave good support to Port's on-ball brigade. Booted 1.2 from 19 touches and pumped the ball inside 50 on five occasions.
Jay Schulz – 7
Made his presence felt everywhere except the scoreboard. Schulz kicked one goal but missed a couple of chances. He was the Power's sixth-highest possession winner with 20 touches. Also took eight marks and dished out three score assists.
Played his part in defence on resting ruckmen Ceglar and Hale and held his own in one-on-one marking contests. Also gave Lobbe a chop out before he was subbed out of the game at three-quarter time.
Justin Westhoff – 7
Threatened to break the game open at times and had the better of Matt Spangher in the first half. Showcased his one-grab marking and provided a strong releasing target down the line. Kicked a goal and pumped the ball inside 50 six times.
Matt White – 7
Only had the 11 touches but rarely wasted them. Bounced back after being rattled by a heavy collision with Taylor Duryea in the opening quarter. Was explosive on the rebound and delivered the ball inside 50 four times.
Ollie Wines - 5
Battled for impact but to his credit Wines was still pushing hard deep into the final term and finished with 19 touches and five clearances. His best moment came when he outmarked Shaun Burgoyne inside 50m and handballed to Angus Monfries, who snapped a goal, in the second quarter.
Chad Wingard – 5
Went ballistic in the fourth quarter and nearly won Port the game, but was hardly sighted before then. The Hawks had no answer when the Port star burst to life. From nine final-quarter disposals he had four score involvements and kicked a goal. Frustratingly for Port fans it was too little, too late.
