The verdict: we rate your club's draft haul

A HOST of recycled players are hoping to gain lifelines in the AFL Rookie Draft or possibly the Pre-Season Draft on Monday.

The Rookie Draft starts at 5pm AEDT but the AFL is yet to confirm whether there will be a Pre-Season Draft.

The Rookie Draft order is the reverse of 2017 ladder positions, with wooden spooner Brisbane Lions having the No. 1 pick and reigning premier Richmond the 18th selection.

AFL.com.au understands the Lions will use its top pick to give Claye Beams a reprieve, which means Gold Coast will have the first 'live' selection.

Here are some of the formerly AFL-listed players in contention to resurrect their careers at the highest level.

Claye Beams

Brisbane Lions
The injury-prone runner – the younger brother of Lions skipper Dayne Beams – played 54 games in seven seasons with the Lions and the 26-year-old appears certain to be given the opportunity to add to that tally with the club.

Stewart Crameri

Western Bulldogs
Since being delisted by the Bulldogs after managing just two games in 2017 because of a troublesome hip, the 29-year-old has been linked to Geelong. Crameri, who insists he is over his hip issue, missed the entire 2016 season due to the season-long doping ban handed to players involved in the Essendon supplements scandal.

Cameron O'Shea

Northern Blues
The versatile 193cm backman, who played 81 games with Port Adelaide from 2011-16, is firmly in the frame to join Carlton given he has been training with the club after winning the best and fairest with its VFL affiliate Northern Blues and earning selection in the VFL Team of the Year at centre half-back. He finished eighth in the Power's best and fairest in 2013.

Sam Collins

Fremantle
The 23-year-old key defender has been training with St Kilda in his bid to reignite a career that netted 14 games in two seasons with the Dockers. The winner of WAFL club Peel Thunder's best and fairest this year, the Victorian was squeezed out of Freo by an abundance of tall backmen and his lack of speed and agility.

Tom Lamb

West Coast
The hard-running former Eagles forward has been training with St Kilda and has particularly impressed with his endurance for his 193cms. Hasn't played an AFL game since his debut in the season-opener of his first season in 2015, and averaged 16 disposals and tallied 21 goals in the WAFL this year.

Blaine Boekhorst

Carlton
The Blues mature-age first pick in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft remains in the mix for another chance at Ikon Park after playing 25 games in three seasons. In his most recent AFL game in round 23 against a white-hot Sydney, the elusive 24-year-old gathered 19 possessions and kicked three of Carlton's eight goals.

Lindsay Thomas

North Melbourne
Port Adelaide has reportedly committed to taking the veteran goalsneak, 29, who was delisted by the Kangaroos with a year to run on his contract after kicking 325 goals in 205 games. Played just nine AFL games this season and copped a five-match suspension in the VFL.

Adam Oxley

Collingwood
The Magpies are expected to reselect the light-framed runner, who was sidelined for the bulk of this season with groin and ankle injuries. The 25-year-old, who has played 31 games for Collingwood, will hope to recapture the form that made him a star in the Queen's Birthday clash against Melbourne in 2015.

Tom Ruggles

Geelong
The medium-sized defender's bid for a return to the Cattery could hinge on how the club views his prospects compared to those of former Bulldog forward Crameri. The 25-year-old played 22 games in two seasons for Geelong but made just four appearances this year.

Roarke Smith

Western Bulldogs
The Dogs have committed to re-drafting the luckless defender, who is on the comeback trail from his second knee reconstruction in the space of just 18 months. The 21-year-old spent the past three seasons on the Dogs' rookie list, playing two AFL games.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen

Adelaide
The Crows have reportedly vowed to give the powerful midfielder another chance after he played just one SANFL game this year following a knee reconstruction. The 24-year-old played 14 games for the Crows in six seasons.
