WITH an extended break before its preliminary final, Adelaide is on the Gold Coast for a three-day recovery and training camp.

The Crows, who booked a home prelim with a 36-point win over Greater Western Sydney on Thursday night, flew up to Queensland on Sunday.

They had a beach session on Monday morning and will return to Adelaide on Tuesday night.

Veteran Richmond Douglas said it was a good opportunity to recharge mentally and physically.

"(It's) a bit of rejuvenation I guess and the best prep for the following Friday night," Douglas said.

"The boys have enjoyed the opportunity to get away and get a bit of sun and surf and what comes with it.

"We started pre-season back in November at West Lakes, and to go there every day can be a grind at times, particularly over 15 days – no footy – we just thought it'd be a bit much.

"To get away and freshen up mentally and physically, also get a bit of training in, a bit of bonding with the boys, it’s all about best prep for the Prelim Final."

Vice-captain Rory Sloane, who missed the win over Giants following appendix surgery, is rated a certain inclusion for next Fiday's preliminary final against either Geelong or Sydney.

Sloane is a likely straight swap for Brodie Smith, who requires a knee reconstruction after tearing his ACL early in the win over the Giants.

The Crows have three players out for the season – rookies Jordan Gallucci (jaw) and Elliott Himmelberg (foot) and midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen (knee) – but are otherwise very healthy.
