The Eagles sit in 10th spot on the ladder with five wins and five losses after Richmond demolished them by 41 points at Patersons Stadium on Monday night.
"After the way we played last week, I'm worried too. I share their worry. We were terrible last week," Kerr said at Perth Airport as the team flew out for Melbourne to take on St Kilda on Sunday.
"For me to say that didn't worry me the way we played collectively, I'd be lying, so I'm really looking forward to the short week and being able to get out there and not have to worry any more after this weekend."
Kerr said there was no point in reaching September and not making an impact.
"I don't want to get the finals and get bowled out in the first week," he said.
"To play good football in the finals, we've got to play good football now.
The 30-year-old midfielder said he was hoping to increase his contribution in the latter part of the season.
Kerr has averaged slightly fewer than 21 touches a game in his seven matches this year.
"In the second half of the year I'll be pushing between 90 and 100 minutes," he said.
St Kilda is currently 16th on the ladder with two wins and eight losses, having lost their past three games.
