FREMANTLE footballer and Australian Football Ambassador Des Headland will be at The Esplanade in Fremantle this Saturday as part of the Australian Football 150 Years experience.

Headland will be accompanied by renowned Australian music act The Black Sorrows as well as local band the Woodenelves for this free community event.

Travelling as part of the NAB 150 Tour, the Australian Football Experience provides an opportunity for families and children to learn about the history of Australian Football while enjoying a series of interactive activities.

Headland said he was excited to be part of Australian Football’s special year and help celebrate with the community.

“Australian Football has always been a chance for families to come together, get active and have some fun and that’s exactly what will happen when the Australian Football Experience comes to town,” Headland said.

The Australian Football Experience is travelling around Australia between February and October as part of Australian Football’s 150 Year Celebrations.

As part of the Australian Football Experience, families have the opportunity to visit the Big Footy, a nine-metre purpose-built dome which holds up to 80 people and contains a visual history of 150 years of Australian Football.

Fans can also watch DVD highlights of the game’s history, view replicas of the 2008 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup, participate in the Handball Target and have photos taken with Headland.
