WEST Coast officials have met with contracted Greater Western Sydney ruckman Rory Lobb over a potential trade just four days out from Saturday's Grand Final.
Lobb was spotted meeting with members of the Eagles coaching staff and injured ruckman Nic Naitanui in the offices of club president Russell Gibbs in Perth on Tuesday.
Gibbs is the boss of property firm Hawaiian, with its WA office based in Perth's CBD.
Lobb remains tied to the Giants until the end of 2019, however he is being aggressively pursued by the Eagles and Fremantle, with the 25-year-old also set to meet with the Dockers.
"We're aware Rory is meeting with Perth-based clubs and does so with our blessing," Giants head of football Wayne Campbell told AFL.com.au on Tuesday.
"However, there is a very strong chance he will play with the Giants in 2019 as he's contracted and happy."
Any move west would need to be facilitated by a trade.
The meeting comes just days out from the Eagles' quest for a premiership against Collingwood on Saturday at the MCG, where Scott Lycett and Nathan Vardy will lead the ruck division.
Lobb played 19 games this season, including the semi-final loss to Collingwood at the MCG.
With the expected departure of current No.1 ruckman Scott Lycett to Port Adelaide and Naitanui's ACL injury, the Eagles are searching the market for contingencies ahead of the 2019 season.
The Eagles have put contracted St Kilda ruckman Tom Hickey through a medical screening and have also toured Western Bulldogs free agent Jordan Roughead through its facilities.
Rival clubs have become increasingly aware of the Giants' tight salary cap with several contracted players being pursued for 2019.
Dylan Shiel is weighing up a move to Victoria, while second-year midfielder Will Setterfield is in the sights of Essendon and Carlton.
Defender Jeremy Finlayson was also told by the club in his exit meeting last week that he would be traded if an adequate deal could be met.
