A five-goal haul on Friday night has seen Travis Cloke poll a combined nine votes from the opposing head coaches in Collingwood’s 36-point win over Fremantle.

Considered best on ground by one head coach and second best by the other, Cloke has now polled in three matches this year and moves to fifth on the Collingwood leader board for the AFL Coaches Association (AFLCA) Champion Player of the Year.

Mick Malthouse and Mark Harvey also awarded Alan Didak (6 votes), Dane Swan (4), Luke Ball (4) and Scott Pendlebury (2) for their efforts.  Docker ruckman Aaron Sandilands, the only Fremantle player to poll votes, received five votes to move six votes clear of his teammate Matthew Pavlich on the overall leader board.

Swan, who moves up to sixth place on the overall leader board, has now polled votes in his last five matches while Didak has polled in five out of eight contests.

In the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year, head coaches vote each week on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis. Coaches vote only on their own matches, but may vote for players on the opposing team.

Past winners of the prestigious award include Gary Ablett Jnr (2007-09), Simon Goodwin and Adam Goodes (joint winners in 2006), Barry Hall (2005) and Warren Tredrea (2004).
