EVERY game at the moment is an opportunity for Brisbane to break an opponent's stranglehold on it, and Saturday night against Port Adelaide is no different.
Since their last win over the Power in 2015, the Lions have lost five straight games by an average margin of 60 points.
FULL FIXTURE Every round, every game
This was rectified to some degree last season when Chris Fagan's men were narrow five-point losers at Adelaide Oval.
In the first two rounds of the season, Brisbane broke a seven-year drought against West Coast and a five-year drought against North Melbourne.

Fagan said fellow unbeaten outfit Port provided another opportunity to rewrite the record books.
"Port Adelaide have had the wood on our club for quite some time, they gave us an 80-point thrashing in my first year (2017) at the Gabba," Fagan said.
"I don't know the stats, but we're aware of the fact they're a team that has dominated us, just like North had last week.
"On our journey if we want to be any good we've got to start beating a few of these teams, so it's natural enough we set ourselves to do that."
FULL INJURY LIST Who's ruled out and who's a test?
Brisbane has been boosted by the availability of classy half-forward Lincoln McCarthy who has overcome a rib injury to earn his place in the 22.
Fagan said the rejuvenated Port provided a stiff challenge with its willingness to play attacking footy.
FREE AGENTS LIST Who is in this year's pool?
Former Brisbane captain Tom Rockliff will also play his first game at the Gabba since leaving via free agency 18 months ago.
"He's a good player and he's well respected at our footy club," Fagan said.
"He made a choice to go to Port which we all understand, that he's happy with and we're satisfied with.
"It'll be interesting for him.
"I reckon the onus is on the guy coming home to play against his old club, there's a bit more pressure on him than there is on us.
"That's the way I see it."
