Who were the top performers at this year's NAB AFL Draft Combine?

TOP DRAFT prospect Paddy McCartin says he has had no recent contact from St Kilda and is still in the dark with just which club he might end up at.

And after arriving at Gold Coast on Tuesday, McCartin says he is none the wiser, having spoken to neither the Saints or Melbourne – who have pick No.2 – in recent days.

"None. I've had probably the same as you," McCartin said when asked by reporters whether he'd spoken to either club.

"I'm in the dark and I guess we'll find out on Thursday night.

"I guess that adds to it as well, with the hype and speculation, no-one really knows what's going on."

While the Geelong Falcons product said it would be "honouring and humbling" to get taken with the first pick, he wasn't that fussed.

"There's a lot of fantastic players that have gone with that pick (one)," he said.

"It'd be very humbling, but it's just a number and I'm the same as anyone else when I get into a club."

With an equal likelihood he could end up playing for the Dees, McCartin was questioned whether the club's move to a low carbohydrate, high fat diet would bother him.

The diabetic jumped straight in and said it could be a good thing, with research proving it is a viable option for carriers of the disease.

"I did read that, it'd be interesting to try something new," he said.

"It is a hurdle, but a lot of people in the draft, or in any form of life, have had hurdles to overcome and I've had it for nine years and it's become second nature to me.

"I deal with it as best I can and I feel like I'm really on top of it the last couple of years."
