NORTH Melbourne has left prolific midfielder Liam Anthony out of its team to play Carlton in the NAB Challenge match at Eureka Stadium in Ballarat on Saturday evening.
Despite Anthony being given the weekend off, both the Kangaroos and Blues are taking reasonably strong teams into the clash, with former St Kilda star Nick Dal Santo to play his first game for the Roos.
Youngsters Mitch Wilkins and Max Warren were the other omissions from North's initial 29-man squad.
Carlton decided to leave out draftee Tom Temay and rookies Luke Reynolds and Blaine Johnson.
The Roos' subs are Ben Jacobs and Taylor Hine, while Dennis Armfield and Nick Graham will start in the green vests for the Blues.
Armfield came into Carlton's squad as a replacement for gun recruit Dale Thomas, who was ruled out of the clash after coming down with a chest infection.
