SATURDAY night's Sydney Derby has been robbed of its marquee duel with Greater Western Sydney co-captain Phil Davis and Swans superstar Lance Franklin ruled out of the clash at the SCG.
As expected Davis wasn't able to get up after rolling his left ankle in the final quarter of last week's loss to Fremantle, while Franklin will miss the clash with a minor hamstring injury.

Davis failed to train at the SCG for the Giants' training session on Friday and never looked in serious contention to play.
Franklin participated in the Swans' main session on Wednesday, but the four-time Coleman medallist pulled up sore from the Swans' light run on Friday.
The pair have been involved in some classic battles over in recent seasons, with Davis instrumental in last year's elimination final win over the Swans by keeping Franklin – who was struggling with a groin issue - to just eight possessions.
Matt Buntine comes into the 22 for Davis to sure up the GWS backline, with out-of-form small forward Ben Ronke included for Franklin.
The pair could find themselves involved in their own match-up throughout the night.
Aidan Corr will play his first game since round 17 last year so the Giants have options in the key defensive posts, with youngster Sam Taylor and Nick Haynes available to take on Sam Reid, Tom McCartin and Nick Blakey.
Meanwhile, there are no late changes for the Fremantle-Western Bulldogs clash at Optus Stadium for Dockers veteran David Mundy's 300th game.
