The AFL and Fremantle Football Club have come together to unveil the two team guernseys to be worn at the 2025 Toyota AFL Indigenous All-Stars match next month, along with the specially designed match-day Sherrin.

The Indigenous All-Stars team will wear a Puma guernsey with artwork designed by First Nations muralist, Jade Dolman, who also designed the artwork for the Sherrin.

Dolman's design focuses on telling the story of the legacy created by the Indigenous All-Stars players who will wear the guernsey, with colours from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags represented throughout the artwork.

The legacy artwork on the guernsey rises from behind the river, and centres around children, with AFL players surrounding them. The design also showcases root symbols representing the pathways for growth and opportunity.

Dolman's design includes symbols representing the important role females play, as well as river and freshwater symbols, and the Beeliar/umbilical cord to further represent the importance of water and protecting our future and new life.

Fremantle FC will wear a guernsey with artwork created by 2007 Indigenous All Stars player and Fremantle great, Roger Hayden and his uncle Dr Richard Walley - the guernsey design was the Club's inaugural Indigenous Round jumper in 2013.

Hayden, who is currently Fremantle's male Next Generation Academy (NGA) and Game Development Coach, and Walley's design showcases a design that represents the ocean (Wardan) and river (Derbal Yerragan) movements that surround Fremantle (Walyalup), and its importance to Noongar People, as well as the 3 boomerangs (Karli), symbolising strength, combativeness and creativity through dance and music.

Jade Dolman said she was honoured to design the artwork for the Indigenous All Stars guernsey and Sherrin.

"Designing the artwork for the Indigenous All Stars 2025 is a significant milestone in my career as an artist and as a proud First Nations person. This match is a celebration of cultural identity, dedication, talent, and community — values that I've aimed to reflect in my designs, with a particular focus on legacy and excellence," Dolman said.

"Collaborating with the AFL design team has been an invaluable experience, offering insight into the power of teamwork and effective communication. From our very first conversation, I felt the cultural weight of this match, and I am incredibly proud of the final artworks that have come to life as a result."

Roger Hayden said Fremantle FC were looking forward to the match and celebrating the occasion.

"To see Fremantle wearing the jumper again, knowing the history and connection with Indigenous players that we've had as a club and to be playing against an Indigenous All-Stars team highlighting and celebrating first nations peoples, history and culture throughout the AFL, it's going to be great to see and an honour to be a part of."

The match-day Sherrin, also designed by Jade Dolman, features the Noongar word 'Miidj', meaning ball and features the river symbol.

The other panels on the ball represent the boodjar (land) and kep (water) – the boodjar panel features native animal tracks and bush foods as circles and the kep panel features symbols of river, special places and rain.
