SMALL forward Cory Dell'Olio was among three Essendon players delisted on Wednesday, as the club finalised its list changes.

 

Rookies Dell'Olio and Fraser Thurlow, and half-back Dylan van Unen, were cut by the Bombers, meaning eight players had departed from the 2014 list.

They joined recent delistings Kyle Hardingham, Leroy Jetta, Sean Gregory and Johnny Rayner to leave the club, with ruckman Patrick Ryder also departing via trade to Port Adelaide.

 

Essendon football manager Rob Kerr wished Dell'Olio, van Unen and Thurlow luck in the future.     

 

"They are well rounded young men who have displayed tremendous commitment and dedication in their bid to carve out AFL careers," Kerr said.

 

"The club has now finalised its list ahead of the national draft."

Dell'Olio played 16 games and kicked 16 goals after joining the club as a rookie in 2011, while van Unen played his only senior game in round four against Fremantle this season.

 

Thurlow, a ruckman from Queensland, did not play a senior game in his one-year stint on the club's rookie list.

His departure leaves Essendon with just two recognised ruckmen on its list in Tom Bellchambers and recruit Jonathan Giles.
