BRANDON Ellis is one of the more excitable Tigers in general, often one of the first bursting through the banner and skipping around the ground.

And in what could be the out-of-contract midfielder's last game at Richmond, he couldn't help but let a smile creep over his face halfway through the third quarter.

Kane Lambert had booted a goal in the Grand Final, taking the margin to 60 points over Greater Western Sydney, and the Tigers were well and truly home.

Two flags in three years ain't bad.

"We had the game on our terms. They came out really hard in the first quarter, we knew we had to weather the storm," Ellis told afl.com.au.

"But credit to the boys, we lifted our pressure, we lifted our tackling and probably got the game on our terms.

"Halfway through the third was when I started smiling, thinking we had this."

Ellis is a restricted free agent who has been heavily linked to Gold Coast, and if he does head north, will leave as a two-time premiership player.

"We'll see what happens in the next few weeks, but I'm just really going to enjoy this and soak it up," Ellis said.

Richmond has now equalled a club record 12-straight wins, something that hasn't been achieved at Punt Road since 1933 when club legend Jack Dyer was in his third year of VFL.

The Tigers slipped as low as ninth this year just after the bye, beset by injuries and with a win-loss record of seven and six and a percentage of 92.

"'Dimma' (coach Damien Hardwick) always said our best footy was in the second half of the year.

"We had that many injuries, we knew we were going to get a heap back in the second half.

"We believed in him and he believed in us. Twelve in a row is an amazing effort, I love these boys and I love these coaches."
