Other incidents assessed:
The match day report against North Melbourne's Drew Petrie for charging the Brisbane Lions' Rohan Bewick during the second quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. Petrie has left the ground in a bid to mark the ball and has his arms up to mark when contact is made. Bewick makes contact with the ball as the collision between the players occurs in mid air. No further action was taken.
Contact between West Coast's Eric Mackenzie and Carlton's Marc Murphy from the second quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. The ball was at a stop-play situation after a behind had been scored. As the players were preparing to set up for the kick-in, Murphy and Mackenzie were jostling for position. Mackenzie attempted to block Murphy's path to reach West Coast's Daniel Kerr and made high contact. A free kick was paid at the time to Murphy and it was the view of the panel that Mackenzie's action was not a striking motion. No further action was taken.
Contact between St Kilda's Ahmed Saad and Essendon's Courtenay Dempsey from the fourth quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constituted a reportable offence.
