COLLINGWOOD midfielder Dale Thomas says grand final experience is among the biggest positives his side can take from its draw with St Kilda.

The Pies will face the Saints again next week after both sides finished on 68 points at the MCG on Saturday.

Thomas said he had mixed emotions following the result.

"Firstly it's the disappointment of not having a feeling, I suppose," he said.

"If you look at it the other way, we've just re-qualified for another grand final, so we've got to go back now, get everything right, load up and go again."

Thomas said dealing with the mental aspect of the draw would pose its challenges, but he could see one bright spot.

"They (St Kilda) said during the week that being there [and] doing that before was going to play into their hands, so we've now done that [too]," he said.

"It's good to have the experience. At the moment I'm not really sure what to think."

Thomas said he would have preferred a result but would take the opportunity to play in another grand final.

Like most players, he wandered from the MCG in disbelief following the match.

Further confusion came when the two teams had to head for alternate change rooms as a water pipe had burst in their usual facilities.

However, Thomas is confident the Pies will return to their usual routine and focus on the rematch.

It is unclear whether another grand final parade will take place, while the club's best and fairest count had been scheduled for next Friday.

Thomas also had a trip to Bali booked for next Sunday.

"Things may have to change," he said.
