ADELAIDE expects defenders Rory Laird and David Mackay to press for a return this weekend.
Laird has missed four games because of a broken toe but is in the selection frame for the Crows' home match against St Kilda on Sunday.
David Mackay is also a strong chance to return from a hamstring injury that has kept him on the sidelines since round seven.
"Both of those guys have been rehabilitating really well and are looking forward to a full week on the track," general manager of high performance Brett Burton said on the club's website.
"As long as they both get through that, they'll be available to play this week."
The 22-year-old was in outstanding form before the injury and is in the conversation for All Australian honours.
His return could force former captain Nathan van Berlo or Ricky Henderson out of the side.
The pair's imminent return leaves Curtly Hampton (foot) as the only first-team player unavailable for selection for the Crows, perched in eighth spot after downing Greater Western Sydney.

Adelaide's attacking aces Eddie Betts and Taylor Walker both kicked five goals in a 22-point win, which featured Betts' goal of the year contender.

"It has been all over social media ... magic," Kyle Cheney said of Betts' snap shot.
"He kicked goal of the year in indigenous round last year as well, so I think he might have sewn that one up already.
"To watch Eddie do that, and then to hear the crowd react the way they do, definitely gets the boys up and we feed of that."
Captain Walker now has consecutive five-goal hauls after an injury-interrupted start to the season.
"He copped a bit of flack from the media," Cheney said.
"But internally he was playing his role and we couldn't ask any more than that.
"The last couple of weeks he has come away with five goals, I don't think he changed anything about the way he went about it - it's just his turn."
