About the role
Reporting to the High-Performance Manager, the AFLW Head Physiotherapist is responsible for the delivery of best practice sports physio to the AFLW squad.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive, manage and deliver best practice sports physio services to the Hawthorn AFLW playing group, including training, match and post-match services.
- Ensure all physio and rehabilitation team members are performing at optimal level. Day to day management of the team and involvement in weekly meetings
- Oversight and delivery of musculoskeletal protocols of playing group, including up to date research in injury prevention and management
- Work closely with AFLW High Performance Manager and Club Doctor to ensure players receive the highest care and treatment. Liaise with AFLW Senior Coach and GM Football Operations in relation to player injury management. Liaise with AFL Men’s Head Physiotherapist as required for optimal player management.
- Development and delivery of rehabilitation programs, education programs for players and pre-habilitation programs
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have 7+ years of experience as a physiotherapist, have led others in a team and have prior experience working in an elite sporting team environment.
This is a part-time opportunity for the 2025 AFLW season, commencing no sooner than 23rd of April and going through until the end of the year.
