In his 11th season at the club, Leon Davis became the first indigenous player to notch 200 games for the Magpies (round 18).  He started the season strongly booting eight goals from his first four games before a run in with injuries saw a drop in form during the second half of the year. His best return for the season was a four-goal haul in the 82-point win over Richmond in round 17.  After missing round 20 with a quad complaint, Davis made his return through the VFL where he had 20 possessions.  Returning to the senior side for the final game of the home and away season, the 29-year-old played the first final before he was omitted again for the Geelong preliminary final.

Mick Malthouse recalled the dangerous forward for the grand final but six possessions and a fourth quarter goal was not enough to see him hold his spot for the replay.  Due to the AFL’s new rule, Davis was awarded a premiership medallion after the replay win.

2010 highlights
Round 11 v Western Bulldogs: Polled one Brownlow vote for his three-goal performance in the 10-point win over the Dogs. Also contributed with four goal assists and two finger waggles.

Round 17 v Richmond: Kicked a season best four goals in the drubbing of Richmond. Looked to have regained some form after missing round 15 with an injury.
