The future stars of our game are about to take to the footy field in the Coates Talent League and fans can watch every game of the boys and girls seasons live.

The partnership between AFL and News Corp will continue this year, with one boys and one girls game to again be live streamed on KommunityTV each week. All remaining games will be live streamed on the Coates Talent League app, thanks to Telstra.

The action begins in the boys competition this weekend, with the first KommunityTV game to be broadcast on Sunday, March 30 when the Murray Bushrangers and Gippsland Power meet at Highgate Recreation Reserve from 1:00pm.

AFL Head of Talent Nicky Couston said: “We are thrilled to continue our streaming partnership with News Corp Australia to showcase one game from each of the Coates Talent League Boys and Girls competitions every round of the 2025 season, via KommunityTV.

“The Coates Talent League is an important part of the Australian football pathway system and, with the support of the community clubs involved, has produced more AFL and AFLW players than any other league. It is also an important development program for emerging coaches, umpires, administrators and support staff.

“On behalf of the Coates Talent League programs and everyone involved, we thank News Corp for their continued support and for helping to take the competition to broader audiences.”

The Coates Talent League is Australia’s premier underage football pathway competition for boys and girls in the eastern states with teams comprised mostly of under 18 players. It is unique to the Australian sporting landscape with the overwhelming focus on the development of players.

The 2025 Coates Talent League competitions will again feature 12 full-time boys and girls programs from Victoria, along with the Tasmania Devils.

Academy programs from New South Wales (GWS GIANTS and Sydney Swans), Queensland (Gold Coast SUNS and Brisbane Lions) and Northern Territory (NT Academy) will also compete in a selection of games in the first half of the 2025 season.

The home-and-away fixture for boys and girls again includes several community access periods. The community access breaks provide opportunities for Coates Talent League players to study and compete in community, school and representative football.
