The Crows have also shot down suggestions they are keen on Greater Western Sydney ruckman Jonathan Giles and insist Ricky Henderson is a required player.
But with Shaun McKernan's future uncertain, with indications he'd like to return to Victoria, the Crows have turned their attention to Podsiadly – who has a range of suitors – and the injury-prone Gumbleton.
"We're trying to re-establish the firepower we think we've lost over the last couple of years and [Eddie] Betts was a big component of that," Adelaide list manager David Noble told SEN on Wednesday.
"At the moment, we're probably trying to work through where Shaun McKernan is at the moment. He's requested to consider some of those areas.
"With James coming on the market, and Scotty Gumbleton is probably another one, they're certainly considerations moving forward for us to look at.
"You're looking at [Taylor] Walker and [Josh] Jenkins coming off two leg injuries, they're areas you need to consider and that's where the market opens up probably in some of those smaller deals."
Noble said it wasn't likely there would be movement on either player until the second or third week of the player movement period, with coach Brenton Sanderson's absence expected to hold off decisions.
Sanderson is at a leadership course in Europe and returns on Saturday.
Consideration of Podsiadly will centre around whether the timing is right for the Crows to recruit a 32-year-old.
Their priority remains Jared Polec, who wants a trade to a South Australian club from the Brisbane Lions.
But Port Adelaide remains in the box seat there given the Crows' lack of draft selections in the first two rounds.
Vince is often talked about as trade bait at this time of year, but Noble said the contracted 2009 best and fairest winner had not been put on the table.
"He's a best and fairest, Showdown medallist for us and he's contracted," he said.
"We think he really adds some depth in that midfield area … he actually won his best and fairest playing his best footy off the wing and half forward with rotation through the midfield.
"We haven't put him on the table at all in that sense. He's contracted."
He admitted Henderson was attracting attention from rival clubs but expected the utility to remain at West Lakes.
"We offered Ricky a three-year deal a couple of years ago when he was still in contract and we saw the development of his talent," Noble said.
"He's a required player and we see that he has the essence of compiling that back end that we're putting together at the moment to be a real strong finals performing backline.
"He's got a couple of years to go and we don't see him going anywhere."
Noble denied any interest in Giles after the Crows looked at him this time last year before landing on Angus Graham.
"I'm not sure where that one has come from," he said.
"We haven't made any approaches or had any interest in Jonathan."
