ESSENDON has made a last-minute change for its season-defining clash with Greater Western Sydney after defender Patrick Ambrose strained his quad in the warm-up.
Ambrose will be replaced by Aaron Francis who will play his first game since he was dropped following round 11.
Livewire Orazio Fantasia is a confirmed starter despite being kept to restricted duties at training this week and will line-up alongside forgotten defender Martin Gleeson.
Missing for 656 days after suffering a serious foot injury last pre-season and more recently a fractured cheekbone, Gleeson replaces the injured Matt Guelfi, and will hope to be part of a winning side to celebrate teammate David Zaharakis' 200th game.

The Giants have made three changes for the trip to Melbourne, losing Matt De Boer to a shoulder injury and dropping Matt Buntine and Jake Stein.
Intercepting defender Nick Haynes, first-year midfielder Jackson Hately and small forward Zac Langdon return for the Giants as they aim for second place on the ladder.
The clash at Marvel Stadium is the Giants' first at the venue since last year's crushing 105-point win over Carlton in round 20.
Bomber David Zaharakis will play his 200th match for the club.
