FORMER Adelaide midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen will play at Brisbane for the next three years after the unrestricted free agent finalised a new deal on Saturday.

The Crows will receive a third-round compensation pick, currently No.48.

Ellis-Yolmen spent eight seasons with the Crows, playing 39 games.

The 27-year-old big-bodied onballer bolsters a Brisbane midfield that already boasts Lachie Neale, captain Dayne Zorko, Jarryd Lyons, Jarrod Berry and Hugh McCluggage.

Ellis-Yolmen was having an excellent 2019 – averaging 23 disposals and five clearances from 10 matches – before a stress reaction in his right leg slowed him down.

"The Lions have had a lot of success this year, which has been exciting to watch," Ellis-Yolmen said.

"Looking in from the outside, they seem to have a good culture, which I can't wait to be a part of.

"I know quite a few people at the club already, so I feel like I will have a good support network around me."

He will join former Crows teammates Lyons and Charlie Cameron at Brisbane, along with former Adelaide football boss David Noble.

Noble told Telstra AFL Trade Radio earlier in the week Ellis-Yolmen's big body would be a plus.

"We felt over the journey (2019 season) they (the Lions' midfield) got worn down physically, (so we want) to have another person in there that can buffer those loads," he said.

"He will bring clean clearances, he has got some power to get through the stoppages and we like that.

"He had a couple of roles this year that we liked and he has got more upside to develop in the next couple of years."
