TOBY Greene continues to make steady progress in his rehabilitation from an ankle injury with the Greater Western Sydney star back running after undergoing surgery in November.
Greene did some light running on Monday before moving back into 'off-legs' training on Wednesday, working hard on the stationary bike while the rest of the Giants' squad trained in warm conditions.
WHO'S LEFT YOUR CLUB? All the latest retirements and delistings
The 2016 club champion is expected to increase his workloads in the coming weeks.
Greene was injured in the Giants' semi-final loss to Collingwood at the MCG and was forced to have surgery after his issue failed to improve over the off-season break, as the club's medical staff had hoped.
GWS had pencilled the All Australian in to be back to full training when the players returned after their Christmas break, but no risks will be taken with arguably the club's most important player – who is coming off a frustrating 2018 season.
FULL FIXTURE Every round, every game
The 25-year-old played just nine games last year due to hamstring and foot issues that plagued him after he missed an extended period of the pre-season while recovering from a broken toe.
Brett Deledio (managed), Shane Mumford (hamstring), Nick Haynes (back), Adam Tomlinson (calf) and Aidan Corr (groin) were other Giants on light duties on Wednesday, but all five are expected to be available for the club's first JLT Community Series game against Sydney on Saturday March 2.
