YOUNG Sydney speedsters Oliver Florent and Will Hayward have committed their long-term futures to the club after signing contract extensions.

Both emerging stars were already locked in for next season, but Hayward has agreed to four more years with the Swans, and Florent another two.

Hayward is now a Sydney player until at least the end of 2024, while Florent is committed until at least the end of 2022.

The exciting playmakers were both taken in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft with Sydney's first two selections.

Florent (pick no.11) had a breakout season in 2019 playing on the wing, averaging a career-high 21.2 disposals and 3.7 inside 50s from his 21 games.

"There's so many quality people around the club, I'm stoked to be here until the end of 2022," he said.

"We've got such a young and exciting group coming through and there's so many good older players that are leading the way, so I'm really excited."

Hayward (pick no.21) became the youngest player to kick 50 career goals in the AFL era since superstar mentor Lance Franklin did it in 2006.

He struggled with a hip issue this year, and managed just 12 goals from 13 games before surgery ended his season after round 18.

The 20-year-old has played 53 games in his three seasons.

"The older boys helped show the way for us when we were drafted, and the coaching staff showed a lot of faith in us by playing us early in our careers," Hayward said.

"Hopefully I can repay that faith over the next five years and we can have some success."

The two signings continue the Swans' successful retention policy, with coach John Longmire, along with players Harry Cunningham, Colin O'Riordan, Callum Sinclair, Jordan Dawson, Nick Blakey, James Rowbottom, Justin McInerney and Harry Reynolds, all committing in 2019.
