CONCUSSION victim Brad Ebert is awaiting test results to determine his short-term future.

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley believes Ebert will miss a second consecutive game this weekend but may be available the following week.

Ebert was concussed when he copped a knee to the back of the head in a marking contest against Collingwood in round seven.

"Brad will have some more detailed tests to make sure everything is OK for him and we're really confident that he's fine," Hinkley told SEN radio on Tuesday.

"Brad's certainly not a high-level risk at this stage ... we suspect probably if everything goes well this week, he'll be available for the week after.

It's a head-knock situation, we're not going to take any risks. We will let the medical team tell us exactly where we're at with that.

Port has also lost defender Ryan Burton until mid-June, with scans on Monday revealing a strain to his right hamstring.

But triple club champion Robbie Gray is a chance of playing against Gold Coast on Sunday after missing the past two games because of a broken hand.

"It will be a matter of how much ball handling and stuff he can do this week," Hinkley said.

"If not this week, he'll definitely be available for the week after."

Co-captain Tom Jonas will miss at least one more match because of a calf strain while his co-leader Ollie Wines remains up to six weeks away from returning after fracturing an ankle.

Key forward Charlie Dixon (broken leg) is also unlikely to return until after Port's bye in round 12.

But vice-captain Hamish Hartlett, also yet to play this season after suffering hamstring problems while on the comeback trail after a knee reconstruction last year, could return to action in a fortnight.

"He's really bullish now that he's on the right path and we're bullish about it too," Hinkley said.

"We think he'll be back playing football very, very soon."
