GOLD Coast has locked away a key piece of its future, with No.3 draft pick Izak Rankine signing on for a further two years.
Rankine has been dogged by injury in his first season at the Suns, playing just one NEAFL game, but has committed until at least the end of 2022.

"Since I've arrived, I've loved my time on the Coast," Rankine said.
"I've learnt so much about footy and my body and am looking forward to continuing that over the coming years.
"There have been so many different people who have invested their time in me, I can’t wait to repay them."
Despite sitting on the bottom of the ladder and currently owning an 11-game losing streak, one thing Gold Coast has done exceedingly well this year is re-sign its young talent.
Rankine joins fellow top-10 picks Ben Ainsworth, Jack Bowes and Peter Wright along with co-captains Jarrod Witts and David Swallow among a huge group of players to extend their tenure at Carrara.
