EMERGING superstar Isaac Heeney has been cleared of any structural damage to his ankle and should be fit to take his place in Sydney's round one side.
However, All Australian small defender Nick Smith won't be available for the early rounds as he battles a hamstring injury, with midfielder Oliver Florent a "chance" to feature in round one despite dealing with a foot injury.
Heeney's left ankle became trapped under the body of David Swallow in a tackle in the opening minutes of Sydney's 42-point victory over Gold Coast in Lismore on Sunday.

Swans head of football Charlie Gardiner said the injury would not keep the 22-year-old from playing in the club's opening round clash against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
"It's not a major sprain so we expect him to train this week and be ready for round one," Gardiner said.
Gardiner said Florent, who injured his foot in the first JLT Community Series game against Greater Western Sydney, was trending in the right direction.
"Oliver is a chance for round one," Gardiner said.
"His recovery is progressing well, he's expected to train this week and I'm sure he'll be putting his hand up for selection."
Smith, though, has been ruled out for the game against the Bulldogs with illness not allowing him to put together the appropriate preparation.
"Unfortunately, Nick has been hampered by illness, which has limited his capacity to train," Gardiner said.
"Given Nick is still a number of weeks off resuming full training, it's unlikely he will feature in the early part of the season.
"He's clearly an important player for us in terms of leadership and experience, so we look forward to having him back out there once he's fully fit."
Reigning best and fairest Jake Lloyd will play despite missing Sunday's game against the Suns through illness, while veteran Kieren Jack (knee) is pushing his case to be included in round one.
Star forwards Lance Franklin (groin) and Daniel Menzel (groin) are also racing the clock to be ready for round one.
