GREATER Western Sydney coach Leon Cameron hasn't lost faith in his side despite a second straight thumping, this time at the hands of the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

After last week's poor showing against Hawthorn, the Giants were belted by the Dogs to the tune of 61 points on their home deck, and gave up the last 12 goals of the match.

GWS kicked the first four goals of the second term to hold a 15-point advantage before the visitors ran all over them at Giants Stadium.

The Giants finished the match -20 in contested ball, gave up 63 inside 50s, and struggled to find any momentum as the Dogs' match-winners seized control and never relinquished it.

Cameron said the way his side capitulated wasn't good enough, especially so close to another September campaign.

"For two-and-a-half quarters we were really rapt, but we're really disappointed that we allowed the Doggies to do too much too easily for the last 40 minutes," he said post-match.

"When you go through tough times the whole club has to own it.

"Coach, coaching group, players, it's a club thing.

"It was a really good game of footy, but 10 minutes into the third we lost our way and we need to be better than that.

"That's not going to stack up against any team in the finals.

"We understand we're there, but I'd be disappointed if any of our players thought about already being there, and that was the reason for the last 40 minutes.

"Unfortunately, we've opened ourselves up (for criticism) in the last two weeks and we need to find a way to bounce back, and I'm confident we can."

The Giants could have Jeremy Cameron, Jeremy Finlayson, Jacob Hopper, Sam Taylor, Daniel Lloyd and Shane Mumford – who was a late withdrawal for the Dogs clash with illness – available for next week's clash with Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium.

However, Cameron said his team will get a rude shock if it is relying on returning players to get the season going again.

"We've got to be really clear on this," he said.

"It'll be great having players back, but we need to make sure we get our system right.

"It doesn't always work out that you bring in three or four (players and everything is fixed)."
