PORT Adelaide forward Sam Gray remains without a contract offer for next year, despite being one of the Power's most consistent players this season.

Gray has been in strong form recently, kicking two goals from 22 disposals in the Power's Showdown win over Adelaide in round 16 and following it with two goals from 19 touches in Sunday's loss to Brisbane.

He has booted 18 goals from 14 games this year, with only first-year sensation Connor Rozee (20 goals) kicking more majors for the club in 2019. 

However AFL.com.au understands Gray has not yet been presented with an offer for next season, with the Power holding off on starting negotiations. 

The 27-year-old missed the first two weeks of this season but has played every game for the Power since, including a three-goal haul against Richmond in round four, and four goals and 28 disposals two weeks later against North Melbourne. 

Carlton, which is searching to add more small forwards to its list this off-season, is among the clubs who have shown interest in Gray.

He has played 90 games for the club since being upgraded from the rookie list and making his debut in 2014. 

Gray is among a group of players out of contract at the Power as the end of the home and away season edges closer.

Senior regular Riley Bonner is unsigned, while ruck trio Paddy Ryder, Peter Ladhams and Billy Frampton are also without deals for next year. 

Talks are underway for an extension with Frampton, with AFL.com.au reporting last week North Melbourne are among the clubs tracking Ladhams.

Karl Amon, Matthew Broadbent, Justin Westhoff, Jack Trengove, Trent McKenzie, Cam Sutcliffe and Cam Hewett are also in the group of players without deals for 2020.

Amon requested a trade home to Victoria during last year's exchange period but is settled in Adelaide and is keen to remain at the Power next year.

The Power are a win outside the top eight after being thrashed by the Lions on Sunday by 48 points.
