CARNAGE has been avoided as we head into round 19. We’re one week away from Fantasy Finals and many coaches are trading to get their team ready for the fun ahead.
Fresh off being snouted, Brodie Grundy will be up against Ivan Soldo on Friday night after Toby Nankervis failed to make the cut for the Tigers. After his 181 last week, Grundy is shaping up as a very popular captain selection.

Matthew Kreuzer will sit out the game against Reilly O’Brien who has been phenomenal this year averaging 98. Andrew Phillips will fill the void in the ruck and after the Crows swung the axe omitting Eddie Betts and Hugh Greenwood, maybe the Blues can go for their third straight win on Saturday afternoon.
Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe returns from his infected elbow to take on the Bulldogs, who will debut son of a gun Rhylee West (MID, $220,000). His father Scott averaged in the high 90’s for five years in his prime so there are high hopes for his son on Sunday at Marvel Stadium.

Toby Greene (FWD, $621,000)
The star Giant has turned back the clock to his early midfield days due to the injury crisis at the club and has scores of 144 and 115 in his last two games as a result.
Ed Curnow (FWD/MID, $598,000)
The Blues veteran has been thrown back on the ball and is loving it with a low score of 101 in his last four games. He has a breakeven of just 53.
Taylor Adams (MID, $621,000)
The gun Pie returned from a nine-week layoff and didn’t miss a beat, recording an impressive score of 111. He has some great match-ups during the run home and is owned by just one per cent of coaches.

James Sicily (DEF, $542,000)
Despite appearing back to his best against the Pies, the Hawk has been underwhelming the past two weeks with scores of just 64 and 61. He has to go.
Jack Ziebell (FWD/MID, $662,000)
The move to the midfield has been outstanding, but after scores of 65 and 75 in his last two and a game against the Eagles this week, an upgrade looks best.
Patrick Cripps (MID, $620,000)
The superstar Blue is obviously playing through injury at the moment as he looks far from his explosive best. He managed just 55 on the weekend against the Suns and has a breakeven of 120.
Calvin’s Captains
No. 1 – Brodie Grundy v Richmond @ the MCG
How can you not pick the new Pig? How can you not pick a guy coming off 181?
In Grundy’s last five games against the Tigers he has scored 112, 134, 147, 115 and 123. However, he has never played against Ivan Soldo. No one will see this as an issue as over the last month Lycett (79), Simpson (75), Witts (106) and Marshall (121) all scored nicely. Expect big things! OINK OINK!
No. 2 – Josh Dunkley v Fremantle @ Marvel Stadium
Sitting at No.1 based on form averaging 144 in his last three games, Dunkley cannot be stopped. He is back at Marvel where he has averaged 139 in his last seven games and will be simply too good once again.
No. 3 – Andrew Gaff v Kangaroos @ Optus Stadium
Returns home where he has averaged 117 this year to meet a team to who ranks as the easiest for midfielders to score against since round 12. They have given up 6x120+ scores in that time to midfielders with three of those scoring over 140.
No. 4 – Zach Merrett v Gold Coast @ Metricon Stadium
Merrett has scored 126 and 114 in his last two games this year and dominated the Suns. He scored 138 against them last year and should score 120+ against one of the easiest teams in the game.
No. 5 – Tim Taranto v Port Adelaide @ Adelaide Oval
After a huge 145 last week, Taranto continued to flourish in the absence of some of his star team mates. He has already scored 139 at Adelaide Oval this year and can make his points up in tackles alone.
