DELISTED Adelaide rookie Jackson Edwards, the son of Adelaide great Tyson, will work with tennis champion Lleyton Hewitt and Port Adelaide premiership coach Mark Williams in a bid to re-enter the AFL system.
Edwards will join VFL club Werribee for 2019, where Williams has been appointed coach.
Edwards' manager Michael Doughty told News Corp Hewitt would mentor his young client.
"It's a brave move from a young kid. There wouldn't be too many 19-year-olds who just pick up and move to another state, but he's pretty driven and wants to give himself every chance to get back into the system," Doughty said.

"'Choco' will be great for Jackson because he has a real rapport with young players and has an ability to get the best out of them, like he did at GWS and then with Dusty Martin at Richmond.
"He'll put time into Jackson and help him maximise his potential.
"And Lleyton will act as a mentor and also look after him from a development point of view."
Hewitt is a long-time friend of Tyson Edwards, whose son was recruited by the Crows in last year's rookie draft at pick No.41 but didn't manage to make his debut.

"Jackson knows he was probably a bit unlucky, but he doesn't blame anyone and knows he's got some work to do and that he's got to get stronger and fill into his body," Doughty said.
"Sometimes you need to go through these moments to see if you've got what it takes to make it.
"He'll play at a standalone VFL club that won't be dictated to by AFL players coming in and out and he'll give himself every chance to get back in there in a year or two."
