ADELAIDE has received a pre-season boost, with coach Don Pyke signing a three-year contract extension until 2021.
Pyke, 49, took the Crows to last year's Grand Final, where they lost to Richmond, in just his second season in charge.
The Crows have won 34 games, lost 14 and drawn one since Pyke was appointed as the club's senior coach at the start of the 2016 season.
"It's an honour and a privilege to be able to coach at such a proud club like the Crows, and I am grateful to continue in my role," Pyke said.
"In the past two years at Adelaide, I've loved working with the players, coaches and football staff and look forward to growing some of the relationships that have been built.
"As a football team, we've laid some really good foundations, but we continue to put in the hard work and strive to get better.
"Just like the playing group and everyone else at the Crows, I'm driven and determined to achieve sustained success for this club."
Pyke was a dual premiership player with West Coast in 1992 and 1994 in a 132-game career with the Eagles.
He coached Claremont in the WAFL before having assistant coaching roles with the Crows and the Eagles.
Pyke was also successful in the business world before returning to football.
Crows captain Taylor Walker told Channel Seven he was thrilled Pyke had committed to the club long-term.
"He's an unbelievable coach and for him to sign on for another three years is super exciting for our footy club," Walker said.
The big name yet to re-sign with the Crows is dual club champion Rory Sloane, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Walker was confident the Crows would do everything possible to ensure Sloane remains with the club.
"We've got a lot of guys coming out of contract at the end of the year, so I'm sure Bird (head of football Brett Burton) and Justin Reid, our list manager, will be doing everything they can to secure the signatures of all the boys who are coming out of contract," Walker said.
"Hopefully Sloaney decides before the start of the season, but I'm sure he'll work out what he wants and we get him in the tri-colours for a lot longer."
Crows chief executive Andrew Fagan said the club was delighted to have Pyke agree to remain in the role.
"Don has achieved some terrific results in his first two seasons in charge and he is eager to continue to find more growth and improvement," Fagan said.
"Under his guidance, the team has played a powerful and exciting brand of football which players and fans alike have enjoyed.
"I think stability is an important part of achieving sustained success and to have Don on board for three more years is a great result for the club."
