TWO WESTERN Bulldogs players have already been suspended this season, but coach Luke Beveridge denies his side has an on-field discipline problem.
Defender Zaine Cordy received a one-week ban for striking Essendon's Cale Hooker in round three, while midfielder Lachie Hunter will miss Saturday night's clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium after being found guilty of rough conduct on Sydney's Tom Papley.
Also, key forward Jack Redpath was suspended for three matches for striking Greater Western Sydney's Phil Davis in round 21 last year.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Perth, Beveridge did concede undisciplined acts on the field were letting the whole team down.
Hunter and Redpath were both added to the club's leadership group this season.
"We haven't got a discipline problem, but I think the boys are learning (the hard way)," Beveridge said on Friday.
"The initial message around the new Match Review system is they're going to fine players, and they don't want players (suspended) from the game, but I think (Cordy and Hunter) have just pushed the limits, pushed the boundaries a little bit with all that, and we've found them out of the team for a week each.
"Any player that gets suspended and is undisciplined, they're letting their teammates down, but they will learn from that and come back.
"We need to make sure we keep our actions within the realms of what's expectable."
West Coast coach Adam Simpson voiced his concerns this week over the hardness of Optus Stadium's surface after a spate of injuries at the new venue.
Beveridge said he'd been assured the playing field would be safe and of no danger to his players.
"What's the penetrometer reading?" Beveridge joked.
"It's a bit more of a concern for (West Coast and Fremantle) if it's hard because they're playing on it more regularly, but we've got no worries about that.
"(The venue) did their Clegg testing this week and all the tests came back in the acceptable range, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue."
